A passion for plants
I fell in love with plants and gardens as a young adult, freshly relocated to Ithaca NY, a beautiful farming community in the Finger Lakes region. With a lifelong passion for plants, I've worn many different (gardening) hats over the years, and my experience with plants and garden design runs both broad and deep.

Early experiences working on farms and orchards led to a degree in horticulture and multiple career paths, all revolving around plants and gardens: co-owner of a small landscape installation and maintenance business with my husband; Tompkins County Beautification Coordinator; horticultural educator for Cornell Cooperative Extension; manager of the Irish Seed Savers Association in County Clare, Ireland; and educator for Cornell's Introduction to Garden Design course, a 6-week online course for adult learners.
For the last decade my focus has been garden design and installation for private residential gardens, both large and small. My specialties include native plants, deer-resistant plants, edible plants, and low-maintenance gardens.

With many years of experience in garden design, installation and maintenance in the Ithaca area, I bring a deep knowledge of plants that will thrive in your garden's particular conditions without a lot of time-consuming maintenance. I love designing spaces that work with and enhance your lifestyle, using plants that provide beauty and food for you and your family, as well as habitat for local birds, pollinators and other wildlife.
