Plants make me so happy!

I fell hard for plants and gardening as a young person, freshly relocated to Ithaca NY in the Finger Lakes region. I've been fortunate to be inspired and mentored by so many amazing gardeners and farmers in this beautiful area.

With a lifelong passion for plants, I've worn many different hats over the years, and my experience with plants and garden design is both broad and deep.

Early experiences working on farms and orchards around Ithaca led me to pursue a degree in horticulture. This was followed by several different career paths, all revolving around plants and gardens: as co-owner of a small landscape installation and maintenance business with my husband; as Tompkins County Beautification Coordinator; as horticultural educator for Cornell Cooperative Extension; as manager of the Irish Seed Savers Association in County Clare, Ireland; and as an educator for Cornell's Introduction to Garden Design course, a 6-week online course for adult learners.

Since 2020 my focus has been exclusively on garden design and installation for private residential gardens, both large and small. My specialties include native plants, deer-resistant plants, edible plants, and low-maintenance gardens.

With many years of experience in garden design, installation and maintenance in the Ithaca area, I bring a deep knowledge of plants that will thrive in any garden's particular conditions without a lot of time-consuming maintenance. I love designing spaces that work with and enhance one's lifestyle, using plants that provide beauty and food for people as well as food, shelter and habitat for local birds, pollinators and other wildlife.
