MY FLOWER GARDENS

We live on a rural property high in the hills south of Ithaca, NY. Over the past 25 years we have transformed a blank slate, formerly a hay field, into thriving vegetable, fruit and flower gardens surrounded by native meadow and forest. Flower gardens line our long driveway and surround our house, planted with a dense mix of shrubs, perennials and bulbs. Most of my gardens are in full sun and since watering is prioritized for our veggie garden, I tend to use tough plants that don't need a lot of water or coddling.
